- There is a workaround though!
Playing videos in certain browsers (iOS)
Until now. Using the YouTube app, iPhone or iPad users can keep listening to music while they get on with something else. To force YouTube audio to keep playing in the background, open up the relevant video and start it playing. Then press the home button so that the app closes, at which point the audio will stop. But if you then press the play button on your earbuds, the sound will start playing again. The video will only play to the end, and it will stop as soon as you unplug your earphones.
You can download Airtube app. Which enable android user to play background playback for YouTube. You can also download video form YouTube with this app. Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
Do you wish to play YouTube videos in the background on your phone without paying the subscription fee for YouTube Premium? Well, the official YouTube app for both Android and iOS doesn't allow this but there is a quick workaround to get this done. Playing videos in the background is convenient if the video part of it is not critical — for instance, if you're listening to music or ASMR. Even otherwise, you don't always want to pause a video, especially a live stream, just because you open another app such as WhatsApp to quickly reply to a few texts.
